Kennedy: Stated 1965 First Edition by Ted Sorenson (Special Counsel to the Late President)
“We have the power to make this the best generation of mankind in the history of the world or make it the last.”
The book itself is in nice shape especially for being 56 years old (it’s in much better shape than I was at that age).
“In 1/53, freshman Sen. John F. Kennedy of Massachusetts hired a 24-year-old Nebraska Unitarian as his #2 legislative assistant-on a trial basis. Despite differences in background, Sorenson in the 11 years following became known as Kennedy’s “intellectual blood-bank,” “top policy aide” & “alter ego.” Sorenson knew Kennedy the man, the Senator, the candidate & the President as no other associate did thru these years. ”
“I still believe that the mildest and most obscure of Americans can be rescued from oblivion by good luck, sudden changes in fortune, sudden encounters with heroes, I believe it because I lived it.”
